This has been a real sticking point, more so than any other category.
Around the time I switched my household products, I also stopped using anti-perspirant (sorry friends). I’ve been using the Bionsen Sensitive cream-stick deodorant since then, which isn’t completely chemical free but is alumium and alcohol free. The thing is, non anti-perspirant deodorants don’t stop you sweating ( which is why they’re supposedly ‘better’ ), they just stop the bacteria growing and producing a pong. With that in mind, it can take having damp, albeit not smelly, underarm a while to get used to. The alcohol in deodorants is typically used to make them dry quickly and I must mention that the Bionsen roll-on ( not the cream-stick ) needs a good blast with a hairdryer for five minutes before you can even get dressed and, sadly, I’ve found most other natural deodorants to be quite the same (except the crystal rock ones ones but I’ve personally found those to be very ineffective). If you’re to bothered by lack of quick drying, Faith in nature and Dr Organics do some reasonably priced alternative natural roll-ons. So, for now, I’m stuck with the Bionsen cream-stick, which isn’t ideal but is a step in the right direction.
I’d love to know what products you’ve tried and how you rate them. Comment below!
